I am a PhD - level Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of New Jersey, National Board of Counselors Certified (NBCC). I bring a structured, thoughtful, individualized and evidence-based approach to therapy. I help clients navigate emotional stress, grief, professional burnout and major life transitions. As aspiring, high-achieving and self-actualizing individuals, we often experience complicated life situations that affect our relationship with self and others. Our basic emotions of anger, frustration, avoidance are often complicated under the surface as guilt, resentment, shame, fear of rejection, feeling judged and criticized, perpetual uncertainty and unresolved internal conflict. These deeper psychological states are often associated with difficulty focusing at work, relationship issues, neglect of self-care, burnout, fear of failure, hopelessness, loneliness, depression as well as anxiety about future.

My counseling practice is focused on creating and providing a non-judgmental and a psychologically safe space for clients to process their challenging and difficult experiences as well as restore hope, confidence and overall well-being.

Using humanistic, acceptance and compassion-based approaches, I create a safe space so my clients can learn gentle yet effective ways to cope with the unpredictable & overwhelming emotional tides to heal their inner self. My counseling services are of benefit to individuals who are dealing with the grief & loss of a loved one or a relationship. Professionals experiencing work / professional burnout or major life transitions, also benefit from my counseling services. As a Multilingual therapist I can fluently deliver care in English and other South Asian Languages such as Hindi, Marathi & Gujarati. I provide culturally responsive care to all clients including South Asian clients.

I have extensive work experience in diverse settings including inpatient, outpatient and community mental health clinics. As a result, I have a much deeper understanding to help navigate client care within the counseling settings.

As a counselor educator, who trains future counselors and as a researcher of mental health counseling, I am able to integrate innovative, theoretically grounded, and evidence-based treatment approaches in my counseling practice. As an active scholar and a researcher, I have published several articles in counseling journals and have presented at regional, state, national and international conferences in the field of counseling, counselor education and counselor supervision.
